| Me: | does this outfit look ok? Is the leopard too gaudy with the gold? |
| F: | glances for 1 second and makes a non-committal noise |
| Me: | I'm changing. |
| F: | I don't know what gaudy means and I barely looked, but when I heard leopard and gold I thought of Janice from Friends. Sorry. |
It’s finally Friday! I have been looking forward to today all week (moreso than normal) because I have great plans tonight!
Right after work, my cousin and I are going to happy hour at Little Goat, where one of her friends is a bartender.
We are then meeting two of our other cousins for dinner at Nellcote (woo Restaurant Week!)! Usually Friday after work I’m totally wiped, but today I will pull through it to spend some good quality time with my cousins (and eat/drink some hopefully amazing stuff). I am excited to treat myself after what seems like a long and cold month.
Come on, 5 PM!
| Me: | can you save some of that cookie dough for me to eat? |
| F: | No, it's not good to eat raw eggs. |
| Me: | What! I'm an adult! I will eat it if I want and you can't stop me. |
After a few horrible moods towards the end of the week last week, I needed nothing more than a break from the office. This weekend accomplished exactly that!
Friday: I was invited to a surprise party for one of my friends, thrown by her boyfriend and my roommate. She was extremely surprised! The party was thrown at a bar that has karaoke, which is not my favorite thing, but I sang a couple of songs with my girlfriends. I was pooped by midnight so headed home around then.
Saturday: Slept in,then fought off a hangover with a bloody mary at brunch. I had big plans to go grocery shopping and to the gym, but instead, I napped and made good progress on my latest read (In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson). I was planning on going out on Saturday, but go sucked into a 20/20 special about a family who escaped from polygamy and ended up staying home. I also made some homemade valentines!
Sunday: Had lunch w/ my college roommate who was in town for a wedding (She lives in NYC). It was great to see her and catch up. It’s amazing how I can go 4-6 months without seeing her, but once I do, it’s like we never left our crappy college apartment couch, watching bad tv and gossiping. Afterwards, I went to the grocery store, and came home to make homemade tomato soup (debuted my new immersion blender!) and grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner.
All in all, it was a good weekend! I got a lot of rest, but unfortunately I tossed and turned all last night, so I still feel tired today. How was your weekend?
