In honor of Halloween eve, and just because I’m curious: GHOSTS
Do you believe in them? I read 50 Unintentional Quotes from Children that Will Send Shivers Down your Spine yesterday during an angry time at work (I had to distract myself from what was going on around me)- and some of the little tidbits are funny, some you can probably chalk up to kids being weird little humans, but some are actually creepy.
I was a really scared kid. My parents never really subjected me to anything particularly scary, but I was an only child for a long time (5.5 years) and I read a lot.. .and somehow I ended up scared of a LOT of things: ghosts, witches, graveyards, the book Bunnicula, sleepovers away from my parents house. A lot of these fears manifested after my brother was born, so maybe it was an attention thing- but that part doesn’t subtract from me actually being scared. Anyway-
Thankfully, I haven’t had any experiences with a ghost, and I think shows like Ghost Hunters are crap, but I do think they exist. I really don’t research or look into ghost phenomena often, but in the past few weeks since visiting New Orleans (which has haunted tours, and just seems big into ghost culture) and asking around, a couple of people have told me about their own encounters. Clearly my two friends who had these encounters believe in them, but some people think it is a total waste of breath to even discuss. Frank sort of thinks I’m crazy and doesn’t like humoring me by talking about it.
I might lost followers or have people write me off as totally nuts, but I am genuinely curious: do you believe in ghosts? Why or why not?
P.S. I probably didn’t help my case for ghosts with Frank when I referenced the idea from Harry Potter that ghosts are spirits that were afraid of death, or have a strong connection to the location they haunt. But that actually makes sense to me so…
P.P.S. I don’t think ghosts are necessarily mean- which has helped me be less scared.

How Did It Get to Be 'OK' for People to Be Late for Everything?
Why do people, invited for a dinner party at 7:30, think it’s cool to arrive at 8:30? It’s rude. It’s inconsiderate. And it’s selfish.
This article gets me. I absolutely hate it when people are late.
ETA: One of the major points of frustration I have with my boyfriend is his tardiness. It drives me up a wall. I’ve obviously learned to live with it, to an extent… but let’s be real, this will be one of those “things” that we as a couple fight about forever.

-Frank worked literally all weekend so I’m feeling kind of cheated (despite having a lot of fun Saturday night and that I wasn’t the one working).
-Has Food Network run out of stars that they just run Guy Fieri shows ALL the time? Currently they are airing “Guy’s Family Cruise” I mean- WHAT?! I don’t want to go on a cruise myself let alone watch someone else’s family on one. That man really made a killing winning Next Food Network Star however many years ago.
-I have my new gold iPhone but I’m scared to use it without my case, which is currently in transit.
-I got invited to see Kanye next week! He’s an all time fav of mine (regardless of the Kardashian affiliation [which I don’t even hate]).
- stuffed myself with a buffalo chicken quinoa dinner. I always forget about it for awhile and then remember, stuff myself and then get sick of it. Moderation what?
- How is it my 21 year old brother responds in no time to an email about my Halloween costume but ignores my emails about job ledes. Cool.
-I wish it was Friday. Or at least Thursday
- 1 more- did you know there is some kind of a broccoli shortage because of weather conditions somewhere? Apparently there is. The more you know.

First time I’ve ever worn a creepy Halloween costume. It was a success! I had a really great time on the trolley my friends rented. Here’s to planning ahead for a guaranteed fun night.

I wish I was one of those people who ate less when they are upset or stressed, but … I’m just not.
I’ve been in a crappy mood all day for no particular reason and it’s taking a lot for me to not give into ordering Chinese take-out.
What’s your comfort food (and can you deliver it to me please?)?

I love it when I have great ideas, but hate it when I end up giving mediocre presents. Hanukkah is actually coming up on Nov. 27, so I need to get thinking! Both for my parents, and for my boyfriend’s parents (for Christmas, so I have a bit more time).
Some hits were: whiskey rocks and rocks glasses for my dad… Sephora gift card for my mom (she’s really tough)…
I’m thinking maybe nice LLBean slippers for my dad. Practical and warm is always a plus for him. He also likes stuff having to do with me, such as a (free) hat with my company’s logo, or an Illinois sweatshirt when I was a student there.
What are the best gifts you’ve ever given?
